Global Impact
Prof. Ting Lin is invited to join the Global Tsunami Model (GTM), alongside the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and several USGS-equivalent agencies in different countries. Lin visited the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) headquarters in Pavia, Italy and is visiting the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Switzerland to discuss Global Sea-Level Rise Model (GSLRM). She is a contributing author to the Global Assessment Report (GAR) 2025 with Foreword by the UN Secretary-General and is speaking at the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025) recognized by the UN General Assembly alongside Heads of State.

This session will serve as a platform for Governments and stakeholders to report on progress in using potentially transformative and innovative approaches like strategic foresight, among others, to invest in long-term resilience and well-being of future generations. The plenary will also hear perspective on the potential of AI and other emerging technologies to advance the implementation of the Sendai Framework.
